In the puddin for Monday

It just goes ta sho the proof is in the puddin Possum's! The leaves are now fallin! There to the left of my head and in Mike's shadow. Ya'll know the sun was at our backs. Next stop is the beautiful colors! What is smellin so good out in the kitchen?





Why it's the pork tendar lion roast from our Kroger purchase this mornin! Cookin slow in all it's juices! A feast for Sock Monkey eyes I'm here ta tell ya'll! Add some baked beans and dinner is served.


Here is Mike buddy of 11 years! Dear old Scooby Doo!!!!! Half German Sheppard and half Chihuahua! Don't ask. We were shocked as well.Bubba

The new week

Here it is Monday again! For those of you who missed Mike's hospital stay, here is what he did with his crayons! he drew pictures of me cause his family wouldn't bring me to him for a great blog of it all!



Off to the Library in East Nashville. We wanted to see if there were any movies we'd like to check out. There weren't any. What a shame there was nothing for a lazy afternoon. We then head to Hollywood video to rent some. They had closed up! Shelves were completely empty! Maybe no movie watchin for today.



Here I am inside the library tryin to look like I'm gettin smart. But of course that would require that I open the books! So the picture continues without book openin. Hey! I don't see anything with or about Sock MOnkeys! What's up with that? How rude!
Mike and I then went to Kroger and bought a pork lion roast for the crock pot. Will be hours before it's ready! We'll just sit back and pot a top on a beer for now. Bye the way...The cooffe was fantabulous this mornin after the big coffee maker cleanin of last night. Looks as if it's tryin ta rain today. We did end up havin rain last night. The pencil cactus and Christmas cactus got watered. If this keeps up, they'll be trees by winter.



Found this old Sock Monkey Christmas photo online. Just thought I'd share it with ya'll. I have been lookin for such a photo for years,but was never successful. Early Monday mornin

It's now early Monday mornin and the kitchen is clean! That is a rare ocassion here in The Sock Drawer.



It seems that the early years Muppets have made it into the American History part of the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. : Kermit was once made out of an old grren coat back in 1955 and was also more of a lizzard than a frog. Glad to see they are sharin them with us.

Well....tonight is the night! The kitchen finally got cleand and this coffee maker is soakin in the bleach water! Mornin coffee should be ta die for! Gotta start Monday off right! Sunday evenin

Here we are on a Sunday afternoon swirlin around the galaxy as usual. No bigger than a speck of dust!



Ya'll know about the floods that swept through Nashville back in April and May right? This flood relief shirt is to help it's victums. Mike loves to help others , so he bought one. I see ya'll have noticed the red type! Snazzy isn't it? Yes I Bubba was on a little adventure and red was the chosen color for such an occassion.



This here is a pencil cactus that was given to Mike durin his hospital stay by his co workers. It once was in a 4" pot and now has graduated to the biggest clay pot! Pencil cactus are really unusual.


And take a look at the Christmas cactus! Wow has it grown! Will be pretty when in bloom. Has been the last two years.

The weekend

Hello Saturday mornin Possum's, Peeps and general Sock Monkey lovers! What a beautiful day it is turnin out ta be! Here I am stumblin to the coffee pot early this mornin!!! Not a pretty sight before coffee! As you can see, the coffee pot needs a good cleanin! Thats a story for another day. The house cleanin crew ( Mike) cleans on Sunday and Monday's. The days off from work! No layin on the sofa for you Mr. Man! Word has it we have comissioned several local artist to do portraits of me ya know! I'l be glad to share them here in my blog once the action takes place. I'll also be featured in the second book of Everything keeps coming up Sock Monkey! Now that ya'll have been brought up to speed with my celebritiness,Sock salutations to ya on a Saturday mornin! My red heeled smile just as big and wide as ever! The parties over

The pool parties are over and it's time to go back to school for the kiddies. Learn lots and have fun with your friends.

For old Bubba, I'm out back watchin the flowers start to die off. Fall is on it's way and lookin forward to it! We have had record temps this year in Nashville! Bye bye record temps! It really has started coolin off here and I am very thankful for that! It has been quite the crazy year! Mike havin brain surgery and all! He's startin to come back to his old self! There have been many blessin's in our lives. Thanks be to God! Now we can start some serious bloggin again! Mike and I lov to take pictures ya know. The wheels are startin to turn in that direction again.


This is a little flower garden that took place before Brain surgery and Nashville floods! Most of our friends are still waitin to get back in their houses after all that drama. May the Lord bless them and they get back home soon.

Monday again

As the rooster crows early on a sunny 80 degree Monday mornin,another week starts out. The coffee been brewed and all.


Gettin close to the leaves turnin. Fall is fixin to commence. Big cool down from all the hot hot temps.


The pumpkins will start comin out. And it looks as if they already have. Let the holidays ho ho ho their way into our hearts once more.


None other than Christmas in July! Every year they bring out all the Christmas decorations At Hobby Lobby and Mike and I go and take ourselves a few pictures.

Santa makes his big entrance on the scene.

Monday afternoon by comparison

The beat goes on,on a Monday afternoon. It has cooled a bit and not so hot outside,so that's a plus! S'pose ta be in the 80's this week! Yeah! Now that's what I'm talkin bout! Let's all pull up a cup of joe and solve the worlds problems this afternoon.

I hear hundreds of our soldiers have been sent home due to personality problems from stress of war. And as our government loves to show how much they appreciate them,they have been cut off from insurance help. What a country. Top economy in the world accordin to yahoo. not good. May God bless their souls.

As the world turns

As the world turns, more dust falls on the furniture. The Chihuahua gets out of the fence again.....Non dairy coffee creamer restocked....and pasta is for dinner. The world keeps spinnin.

As the world turns.....another Shrek movie is made every 45 minutes.......Toy Story 400 will be out in November......and it's hot as blazes out......the picnic was canceled......still spinnin! Bubba

Mondays

Here we are on another Monday! Our soldiers are still abroad and nobody even knows why we are there anymore. Sad but true. So off to the coffee pot for another cup of Joe to solve all the worlds problems. The recession still on and most of us are sufferin terribly. But we'll get through it all in good time my pretty and your little dog too!

Batman and Robin are still savin the day as the dinamic duo. So much for the 60's. Wouldn't it be great if things were really that simple? Just flash the Batman light in the sky!

The grass out on the lawn growin tall just now. Looks to be another cut the grass day. The tomato plants were crap again this year. No tomatos to speak of. The biggest plants ya ever did see,but no fruit. Back to the Kroger produce department. And that my Possum's is all for this Monday.
