More Scarecrows

Hello my Possum chasers! What's up on this another Saturday? Say ya'll don't have anything to do? Well have I got some scarecrows to show ya! That'll take up a few minutes of your time! If ya remember the blog before last, you'll remember I never finished showin ya all of my scarecrow tour. Ya say your tryin to get into the Halloween spirit or perhaps ya just want a little fall time feel. Whatever your taste on a silver platter is...just sit back and enjoy the scarecrows.




This one is really kind of cool! An a American Indian and his tee-pee! Twas a pleasent surprise from the usual scarecrow of fall!

Scarecrow or not This one fell into my tour of the gardens. Accordin to the garden people...This was one of the entrees. Kind of has the Mad magazine look to it.

 

Woooooo-Whoooo! Another scarecrow!




I love the garden theme to this one! Just a touch of patriotic influence off to the right hand side. Made from clay flower pots is a very creative way to look at the Scarecrow theme.




Did someone say vampire mansion? Maybe not but it sure has the look of it. Bella and Edward simply must retire here! Wait! Do vampires retire? I don't think the subject has ever come up in any vamp. movie I ever saw. Well... on with the scarecrows Possum's.

This tour was very interestin to see. I clearly enjoyed the tour.

I was runnin through the scarecrows lookin like a crazed Sock Monkey! Actually I am a crazed Sock Monkey, but let's not tell anyone.

The Big Pink bus

Good evenin Possum's and all around roadkill!  Have ya'll ever seen a big pink bus before? Well ya have now! I just knew my Possum's couldn't make it through Halloween without seein this! It was to good to pass up!


The way I see it? It has to be hers! Pink must be the new ornage! What a weird Halloween it'll be with all this pink!




Here's another thing that happened to me today! Remember how I said the Pumpkin pose was canceled for this year? I decided to head on over to the farmers market to walk around for the afternoon.



I walk into one of the buildins when I arrived and found the entire buildin full of every kind of pumpkin ya'll can imagine! I mean really! Isn't that always the way it happens? Ya think ya could cancel something if ya want to! But fate had another plan this piticular fall afternoon.



So I'm gonna just roll with it and have that pumpkin pose! Here it is! I mean it's perfectly provided for me!




Didn't I say they came in every form ya'll could think of? Painted faces on a Pumpkin? What ever happened to folks carvin'em?



Fat pumpkins small pumpkins of every shape and size pumpkins! I know I promised the rest of the scarecrows,but when fate knocks on the door ya open it!

I bet ya'll never seen gray pumpkins! Pink bus and gray pumpkins? What's the world comin to?

I will return to my regularly scheduled scarecrow blog another time. Lot's to see on that one still! But for now...*Wink* this is Bubba's Sock Drawer signin off! Bubba

The Scarecrows

Okay Possum's! Bubba squared today! Something mathmatical but we won't talk about that nor can I remember after so many years of being out of school!



It's time once again for the walk through Cheekwood botanical garden and view the scarecrows for October! The first one I'm not even sure how it is seen as a Scarecrow, but I'll go with it!



Let's not get bug eyed over it! I mean really Possum's! They are the local folkart from the Nashville area!



It's the pink of things! Have ya'll ever seen anything so pink in all your lives? The crows would have to wear sunglasses around this scarecrow girl. They were blinded by the pink!



So get yourselves a cup of coffee and sit back. This is gonna take awhile. There were lots of scarecrows for me to see on this adventure.



And Yes!...I did have to be in every single photo for this. My photograph staff thought it would be fittin for me to be in all the pictures! I think they were think what it would be like for me to be one of the scarecrows as well.


I always enjoy my trips to the Cheekwood gardens. And what a lovely fall mornin it was for such an outtin!



I only do these kinds of things to get into the spirit of this month bein the month of Fall time, Harvest time and Halloween all rolled up into one.



I shall sit here by the pond and think about it just for a moment.



It's Pumpkin Head! Run for your lives! I think there actaully  is a movie with a Pumpkin Head character in it.


Western girl? What's she gonna do? Ride the crows out of here? No Horse girl....think horse. It's a western not the Wizzard of OZ!


Talk about eattin crow! Crow pie? What are ya'll tryin ta teel ole Bubba?

Did ya'll see all these? Scare crows were everywhere!



Mornin glory break! The flowers were a welcome distraction!

Celebrate Nashville

Hello Possum pretenders! And welcome to another episode of Bubba's Sock Drawer! Got antoher adventure just waitin to be told. Kay! So in the park where our very own golden girl stands in her Parthanon buildin...(yawn) that part makes me yawn! The cultural festival had taken place. My very own Possum staff and I took in the festival to see what this was all about. So it seems........This was a celebration of all the people that have come here from other countries.



Bring in the May pole and let's get started with all the festivities! A dance around the May pole to bring in the fall time. It usually signafies the coming of Spring time.


Enter the dummers! Beat those drums! Draws a crowd everytime! I stood there for quite sometime. They were really good! Beats loud enough to cover up the sounds of country music!


There was lots of fun for everyone!



The Indians even came out to join in all the fun! Check out their Tee-pee! This is a real one! Not some movie set deal!



They had loads of musical instruments and everyone was invited to pick one up and play! My Dad...if ya will use to play the clarinet back in his day and so the tradition continued one last time. He said it was his farewell to the clarinet.



Folks from all over the world came out to show their cultural talents.


The rappers were there and they were rappin the stories of the bible. It was a sight to see!



This is the yawner I was talkin bout earlier! The parthanon. Makes no snese that it's in Nashville, but it's here! I'm just sayin!



Well I'll be a squared sock monkey in my own right!



Tye dye it and stick it in a bottle! That's what I always say! Well...almost never, but it sounder perfect for the moment.
