It's the pumpkin of the matter

I know I get excited when the pumpkins come out,but this was to good to wait. I did a little pumpkin investigating and found some rather interesting photos of pumpkins around.



This hefty pumpkin weighs in at 1,535 lbs! Can ya'll believe ya'lls eyes? I could carve out a house for myself in this pumpkin shell! Only...it would rotten after a while,thus making it not a very good home for me afterall.



This is one of the biggest Jack-O-latterns ever used at a residence. Look really cool if ya'll ask old Bubba! I know I'm a bit early with this kind of thing, I do enjoy a good pumpkin.



This one is one of my favorites! I have never seen anything like this one in all my years of Sock Monkeydom!



The usual but odlie but goodie! This rather plain one still gets the point across! Halloween is just around the corner.



This one makes me pumpkin laugh all the way to the actual Halloween holiday! Great imagination! And by the way Happy Columbus day!Bubba

Here I am on a perfectly good afternoon, weaving in and out of the shadows. Found another great place to take a pumpkin pose. I never can pass those up! nothing says fall like a pumpkin and a bale of hey.



Stopped in for lunch and found a Budda waiting for a pose with me,so Mike whipped out the camera and shot this photo moment!


I'll be darned if I know what this reads!I only speak words from the depression. Brother can you spare a dime?

It's Monday Possum's

The Monday mornin coffee has been pour and we're comin to life to start another week. Funny thing about Mondays.....even if ya drink an entire pot of coffee,it seems the Monday feeling never quite goes away. But we all do the best we can to get ourselves through the work week! Church service

Good Sunday afternoon Possum's! Mike and I attended church service this morning. It was the homecoming and celebrating 14 years of the churches existence! Our church is so big we have three services to accommadate all the good Christains that fellowship here.



This is the congregation! And I could not for the life of me get them all in the picture. We had outdoor service this morning under a tent roof top. We were in fomed this morning that the church is going to build onto the building we now have to enlarge it for the many folks that attend! Immediately following the service, there was a potluck and We stayed to join in and fellowship with friends and family. Really enjoyed the food! Have a blessed Sunday afternoon and evening!Bubba

More of the Park

Good evening my precious Possum's and it has been a fabulous day! I am still sitting aorund and thinking of the fun cars I got to see and sit in as well. Twas a joy to find such a treasure of a day by surprise.



This piece wasn't at all part of the car show. It was actually parked there from someone whom attened the show. I could not resist! Get your motor running,heading down the highway....(Bubba Humming). As the dream bubble appears above his head and he's out on the open road riding the motor bike and the wind blowing his button eyes all about. Sorry there is no hair on a Sock Monkey to let the wind blow through.


Grease is the word! How 50's is this beauty? Can you say Poodle skirt? The driver with his sunshades in place and a cigarette tucked ever so carefully behind his ear. I could see it now.



Hot digetty dog Possum's. This photo was inspired by non other than Hot Dog Mike on Facebook! Tis a guy whom has a Hot Dog cart and he moves around the city where he lives and post his where abouts on facebook so his patrons will know where he is at. From what I can tell his Dogs are quite good and tasty!

A walk in the park

Good afternoon Possum's and what a wonderful day it is! My Dad and I decided to head to Centennial Park because of the beautiful day and enjoy A walk in the park.



These swings they provide in the park really are quite nice ,so I decided to sit a spell and enjoy the beauty of the day. The temps only in the 70's makes it fabulous!


The geese were swimming in the pond hoping for tid bits of bread crumbs occashionally thrown in by folks out on their walks. They are fed quite well I might add!


So here we are minding our own business and just out on a usual photo shoot. Nothing much else going on in our day.



Much to our dismay we walked up into a Great car show in the park! BONUS!!!!! What a great opp. for a blog moment! Dad and I looked at each other as our eyebrows raised and great big smiles came across our faces! True mine is always there,but who's counting?


In my mind I was thinking....*Bond,James Bond.* (Wink) "Shaken...not stirred." Here's the reason why I was thinking it to start with.....



I suppose it was alright for us to take a picture.No one was around to correct our action on this delicate matter,so FLASH went our camera! And Flash again! And so on. What a great day this had turned out to be, and all by surprise! Completely free to enjoy!



Common....Say it with me "Rolls Royce" Oooooouuuuuu....Aaaaaawwwww! Now that's what old Bubba is talking about! A ride in style! Fit for a King Sock Monkey! Well...we can imagine it if we want to,can't we?






This picnic basket and little green number was owned by a woman from England. She ran up to talk to us! Much to our amazment She was a fan of our Blog Here in Bubba's Sock Drawer! All the way across the pond! How totally Awesome we got to meet! This is really a true story! I could not believe it was really happening! I ask her if she wanted a photo with me,but she refused. She was so glad to meet me! So we parted company and But before we did she ask If I wanted my picture from behind the wheel? Does a Sock Monkey have a red smile? The hat you see on the car is a real policemens cap from England! Coolest afternoon ever!!!


This is the back end of a car made into a seat and umbrella...Ya'll know I had to check it out! A Sock Monkey can get plum tucked out walking around looking at his dream cars!


This is an antique tank from quite along time ago! Not sure of it's age,but great for the photo purpose!


Look at this beauty! Kind of reminds me of Grease the movie.



What a fantastic day this all turned out to be!!!
