Saturday fun
Good mornin Possum's! Well? it started out much like any other day with breakfast at Cracker Barrel. You know the usual gravy and biscuit with coffee on the side kind of day. I was wonderin what shall I do with myself? The sun was comin up and things were gettin curiouser and curiouser. My Dad was off from his job and we were havin the day off special breakfast. As we were sittin there sippin our coffee , the wheels in our minds turnin fast and furious as to what we would get into.
The Cracker Barrel lady was makin her rounds and spotted us sittin there and as ya'll all know to well, the C.B. gift shop sells Sock Monkeys as a side business. She was johnny on the spot to let us know about it. The photo opps even happen durin breafast! So here I am with a small little guy in my arms snugglin up to the C.B. chick. Sock Monkey hugs durin the mornin coffee never hurt anybody and what a great way to start the day! Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I see the light bulb pop up in a cartoon speakin bubble over my Dads head! This could be trouble!
We decided to hop in the car and go for a ride over the tenn. state line into Kentucky for the day to see what's on the other side. Our first stop was bowlin Green Kentucy. It was a small little town tucked away with a old time town square just cute to the touch.
The town clock says it's time to check all this out!
It was a pretty little town and just right for the picture takin.
Over on the little town square, there was lots of stuff goin on. nice statues for picture takin....
Fountains and flowers and all. The towns folk were out settin up booth for a craft fair and the Bar-B-Q was already smokin in the smoker. It was a Norman Rockwell moment if I ever did see one!
And what a pretty day to enjoy the outdoors. The temps high for today only in the 80's.
I was enjoyin the town square so much and then it hit me! I spotted Spencer's coffee shop across the street!
I moseid in for a good cup of Joe. My personal favorite is the moucha Latte. Extra chocolate please! Skim milk with no whip toppin. Steamed to perfection and brought to my table pretty as you please.
What's this? The lost river cave? What ever could this be? Roadside attractions! Let the fun begin! Apparently...someone lost a river in a cave and I found it!
I bought my ticket and stepped outside to head on down to the cave boatride.
We had to cross the nature bridge to get to the river boatride and cave itself. Adventures in Kentucky! Bowlin Green style!
This is startin to look interestin! A white water river goin to the under ground!
The entrance to the cave was the prettiest settin out in the woods.
This is what you'd see comin out of the cave. We couldn't take any photos inside the cave on the boat ride. It was poorly lit and none of those photos came out to good. But I tried.
This littl lady here was our boat captain, MC and tour guide all rolled up into one! She pointed out the neetest rock formations deep inside the bowels of the earth as we boated through the underground river cave.
This is my Dad and Savannah Jane and myself after we came out of the cave. Our eyes tryin to adjust to the daylight again.
We all took a vote and decided this was tourist camp day! Woooo-hoooo! Let's party! Back in the car and on the road again, we were drivin on up the highway a piece and spotted this big ornage Dinosaur on the side of the road!
I'm thinkin we've hit the jackpot! Either that or we've just won the lottery!
Dinosaurland! We all squeeled with delight at findin these roadside treasures. So what did we do?
Yep! You guess it! We stopped to go inside!
This looks like it's gonna be pretty interestin!
Prepare yourselves! We have now just become lunch!
Thank the good Lord up above these are just fiberglass statues!
Okay this is pretty mild so far.
Startin to get a little rougher. Bigger dino's a comin!
Somehow I knew this shot was in the makin! Spread jelly on me and feed me to the dino's!
What ya'll thinkin so far? This is pretty cool! I told ya'll! Hold on there's more!
This is the one we saw from the highway! The one that lured us in here! We can actually walk right up to it!
Here I am standin at the foot of it lookin up!
This is his foot! That's how big these statues are! Can ya'll dig it?
You get the idea! There's lots more pictures of big dino's. I'll save them for another day. This day isn't over yet! I'll be back later this evenin with another Kentucky adventure! Until then I'm closin The Sock Drawer! Bubba
