Winter advisery
I've been watchin the weather channel again. Their callin for 1 to 2" of snow for wednesday mornin. We'll keep an eye out to see if that really comes about. The low tonight is only gonna be 36 degrees. Doesn't seem cold enough for snow to stick.
Well any way,Mike has been into his Teddy Bear collection. He has many very old ones. This guy here isn't old. He's from the Boyds collection. The Archive series. He measures 22" in length. He has a leather collar on with a big bell attached to it. I know ya'll can't see it in the photo, but it's there. Teddy Bears have always been a big part of Mike's life. He's been collecting them for 20 years and he is very selective bout witch ones he likes. He loves the old world style. The ones from the early 1900's. Would he ever love the real antique deal, but they get rather costly and many repairs to be made. Steiff bears are, in his opinion, the top of the line In Teddy bears. The reproductions of the old era. Jointed bears with humps in their backs. Mohair fur. We've seen them go as high as $800.00 to $900.00. Most are in the $100.00 to 200.00 range. Mike plans to add one to his collection for his April birthday. He turns 50! Already has him picked out. We'll share that with you in another blog.
Durin Mike's vacation,he has been arrangin them all over the flat. There are upstairs Teddies and there are downstairs Teddies, bathroom Teddies and Kitchen Teddies. Teddies on the stairs. Everywhere ya'll look,a hug! Thanks ta Teddy Rosevelt. He's the one that started it all. I'm sure ya'll have all heard that story.
The rain comes down pretty good now. So git your favorite Teddy Bear and snuggle up. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Bubba
