An enenin with Bubba

Come on in Possum's and pull yourselves up a piece of the sofa. We'll catch a few Family Guy episodes on adult swim together. Notice the cool and tough lookin tatoo on the back of my head. I may be a Sock Monkey from the 60's , but I try and keep up with the times. Sorry my Possum's , I have to pass on the piercins. First of all I don't have a navel to pierce. Puttin one in the nose could be painful if I ever have to blow my nose durin a winter time cold. That's the story on that. I did surf on over to the Sock Monkey ranch website for a bit this evenin. Hosted by a woman named Jan and she is a Sock Monkey artist. It's a delightful web site if ya'll are lookin for something neat to see. I love to check out what other Sock Monkey people are up to. Makes for a fun web surffin.

One of the stories on yahoo I saw just a bit a go was they think they have found a planet that could possibly support life. It's called 581D. That was a good read if your into the space thing at all. I could just go and run naked in the livingroom! LOL! Just kiddin. Not my style. I have so many clothes I don't have time to be a naked Sock Monkey. Has anyone ever seen Batman go to the bathroom? I was just wonderin how he can go with that suit on. Instead of the bat cave, it's the bat-room. Have a great evenin. Sock Monkey over and out. Bubba

Tuesdays adventure

Good afternoon Possum's and Peeps! I'm a Sock Monkey on the go and on the go I am as a Sock Monkey. Last night I was sittin here thinkin I would love a different place to dine for lunch tomorrow. I fired up my computer to view some dinin spots in Nashville I've never tried. Not to mention I love to blog about where I've been. I found a place I thought I'd love to try and it was called Prince Hot Chicken Shack. The photo I view of the inside is really what attracted me to this piticular eatery. The words Chicken Shack was the second thing that attracted me to this spot. I yahoo map it and carefully write down the directions so I can find the place. Keep in mind it's a place I've never been to. I pull up into the parking lot of the Prince Hot Chicken Shack and was horrified at what I found! The place had a glass front so I could immediately see that the picture I saw online was nothing like the real place! I didn't even get out of the car. It looked like a seriously dirty place that didn't look like a healthy place to eat in much less relax and enjoy your lunch in. So...I took off to Jim and Nick's Bar-B-Q. Been there and done that, but knew I could trust I would come away with my health and a full tummy.



The waitresses were all to happy to care for us! The blond wasn't even our waitress. She was passin by our table when we were preparin for the shot. We invited her to join the photo! Right off the bat it was a cheerful enviroment with fantastic service! The parkin lot was full witch is always a good sign it's a good place to eat. So now I've been waited on.



So I'm thinkin....the place is full and it might be a while before we get our food. I sat with the condiments to relax and wait. We no more than got the picture taken and out came our Iced Tea!



That was fast! Look at how pretty they arranged the lemons on the side of the glass!! Did they do this because of my celeb status or is this the way everyone is treated? I looked around and found everyone was treated the same way! This immediately gets my vote as a place I want to come to again!



While I was waitin for my food to come along,I thought I'd check out the dessert menu. Bubba needs to get his sweet on afer a good meal!



My meal is here!!! Pork Bar-B-Q on a salad! Healthy on the outside and the inside! Yummy! Was a great visit and would recommend it to anyone comin into town to tour the country music stuff. That's the story for this Wednesday. The weather ya'll ask? It's overcast and cool. I'll close The Sock Drawer on this Wednesday! Bubba

Fred and Gloria are wavin to Michael

Hello Fred and Gloria!!!! So glad you guys stopped in to leave a comment of my meek and modest blogspot. We haven't heard from you in so long!!! TV Jones gives a big old shout out to fred and Gloria from the top of our TV set in the livinroom. My Dad and I have been thinkin bout headin to Denver sometime to see the skyers and all that. Thought it would be a great way to spend a Christmas vacation. Maybe you guys could meet up for dinner should that trip ever become reality. right now it's just a thought. Caged

So, my Possum's....Bet ya'll are interested in findin out how I spent my afternoon. After the roach chasin China Buffet lunch , I decided to take a serious look at my tomato plants and the plantin of them. This year we decided to grom them from seeds. The last two years we planted them , well...they did not even produce a single tomato!



Here they are in the purple pot. With a waterin can in hand I was a spyin on them. I might have sneeked up on them , I didn't want to scare them into not producin this year. They would have wilted their little hearts out with fright! I hear ya'll laughin at the very sight of me hangin from the top of our shovel!



The tomato transplant went off without a hitch and the cage has been placed for perfect growth pattern. It may just be a spect in the dirt now ,but in the comin weeks it will raise on up to footage!



In the mean time It's a jungle jym for me. Climb Sock Monkey climb! And climb I did as if my life depended on it.



These tomato cages can be purchased down at the local Wal-mart. The rain mist did stop long enough for me to get that one in the ground. Go ahead and rain on that little booger! Good afternoon Possum's! Bubba

Lunch

Hello! My Possum's of The Sock Drawer warehouse! Lunch is brought to you from none other than the China Buffet! One of our favorite eateries and has been since we moved to Nashville. The sky is overcast with a mist of rain. An all around good day to treat yourself out to lunch and then back home for a nice cup of hot steamin coffee. The temps are cooler this week as a cold front has come along with the rain. Last night I got to watch a TV show on how they accomplished the Bin Laden killin. Wow! Can I say it was truely interestin to see the U.S. armed forces at work.



As I sit at the China Buffet....I loaded my plate with shrimp! Love the shirmp! Sittin at the next table, was three ladies and one gentlemen dinin on their China Buffet treasures. All of a sudden ,a roach crawled out of one of the ladies purses! They all three screamed...causin a comotion durin the lunch rush, bringin the crew at a fast run! They seem to be freakin out thinkin the roach had come along in their establishment! We on lookers giggled as we watched the adventure unfold! Welcome to the south Possum's. Roaches are very much a part of the southern states. Those of us whom live here just smash it and keep on eatin! Is there any other way? Not really,but twas fun to say. Happy Monday Possum's! Bubba

Couva Calypso Cafe

Hello Possum's! Mike and I decided to treat ourselves out for dinner tonight. We only just arrived back home only minutes ago. We headed to a local Cafe for our dinin experience. Couva Calypso cafe was the choice of a rainy night excursion. Very casual and a rustic settin. Glass front with a view of the street. The ultimate in budget dinin.



The waiter was kind enough to pose for a quick Sock Drawer picture! Fast and curtious service. A smile that could knock your Mama over in her grave. Flash those pearly whites boy!



The Island burger made it to our table without floatin away in the tide. Salty chips on the side to complete the Calypso feel of the joint. The lemon in my tea galss surfin a wave of ice cubes refreshin my thrist after salty chips. Burger on wheat pita! A few chopped onions and a few sprigs of lettuce top off the bestest burger in the jects.



The crew and the chefs of the entire evenin. Little did they know the local crazies would wonder into their establishment for Calypso treats! Hey! Welcome to Nashville!

Friday the 13th

Welcome to Friday the 13th here in Bubba's Sock Drawer. The rainy day fun has began. I'm here to talk about a sad day. I was surfin around the web last night and have come to discover that some of the Sock Monkey websites are disappearin. Now I know that since the mass produced Sock Monkeys have hit the market, us vintage folkart lovers have been let down. True I don't have lots to discuss as I once did due to life happenin,but will remain true to my vintage self. I will continue to blabber a mouth full from time to time. And every now and again, I will be goin places and be pleased as punch ta share it here with ya'll. But for the most part it's a way to entertain myself.



So pull up a porch swing and just enjoy life. Put the hot dogs on the grill and feel very blessed to even have them to put on the grill. In an age where anybody on the planet can be famous just by airrin their lives on reality TV, I'm just here smellin the roses and pourin myself another cup of coffee.



Watchin the tomatos grow. Just breath! It's the only thing in life that's still free! That and a smile. may the blessins flow for you all! Bubba
