Pumpkins are in season

October is here in full swing! The pumpkins are showin up all over the city! Looks like ornage in the new pink! Mike and I bought a pumpkin to carve and here it is. Got nice proportions and a nice size. I am already startin ta see a face on one side.



Look at the size of these pumpkins! WOW! We talkin serious jack-o-latern! We need a chainsaw for these babies!



And what about these white pumpkins? Aren't they the coolest?


Pumpkins all lined up in a row. It is clear ta me october is in full swing! I absolutely love this time of year. The temps are gettin cooler and this Thursday we go down into the 40's.




The spooks and goblins are on the prowl. Lookin ta creep ya'll out or perhaps a good scare.



The Mums are in full bloom. They are truely beautiful. Many different colors ta choose from. All the colors of fall make my heart sing.


Mike loves pumpkins eventhough he's not good with carvin. We still enjoy it. And that's all that really matters. We got the biggest spook of'em all. Her name is Alyce!



I could tell ya'll horror stories bout that bitch! Freddy Kruger is a pussy cat compared to this cunt. She stocks people! And that's just the tip of the ice burg. Not gonna ruin a perfectly good day on her. Yes! I am flippin her off! Break a pumpkin over her head! Have a great day! Bubba

Thursday mornin Cha-Cha!

Howdy doo Possums! It's a cool fall mornin here in Nashville! Lovin the fall weather. Project runway was really good last night. It's one of our favorites! Bye Bye to the straight guy. He got eliminated. What's up with this Suade guy talkin in the third person? Suade doesn't like this kind of thing. Kind of stupid if ya'll ask me. But what does a Sock Monkey know? I'm really hopin Lindsey goes all the way to Bryant Park. I think she has a lot to offer. She's got a great personality and I love her laugh. I love that she does a lot of vintage things. She's not afraid to use prints in fabrics. It's great that she doesn't listen to Tim and follows her gut. She'll go far even without project runway. Thumbs up Lindsey!

Hallelujah Wednesday!

Hallelujah! It's Wednesday! Mike is off from his job! I'm happy to report the weather has cooled of considerablly! Fall is in the air. We're glad for that. As I lay here on the train track of life,I love it! Don't get your cake tips in a wad!



See? I told ya'll not to get your cake tips in a wad. But ya went ahead and did it anyway. It could be worse. Your kitchen could be stacked up with all these dishes!



And then ya'll would spend all day washin them. It would certainly be like you were livin in a cage!

Saturday mornin cartoons!

Back in the day,Saturday mornin cartoons were the thing! They'd start about 6:00 A.M. in the mornin. By noon they were all over. H.R. Pufnstuff was our favorite in the 70's. And still is here in 2008. We have the complete boxed set.



And here he is. He's your friend when things get tough. And rightfully so. Sid and Marty Krofft were the coolest! We grew up with them bein at Six Flags over Georgia. They had a puppet show there. Was one of Mike's favorite things ta do.



Traggedy stikes this mornin as the Hurricane has hit Houston Texas. Floodin has occured as 11 foot waves hit the shore. Many folks ignored the warnin to leave. They are now callin for help on the 911 system. Let's all pray for them. May God keep them safe.

Back again!

Greetins Ya'll. Yes this is my second blog for Thursday. I can't help it! I'm a Sock Monkey with a lot ta say. I was behind Mike's bike this afternoon and I thought I'd like to share some of our Teddy Bear collection. So off through the house we went with the camera. Teddy bears are there when ya need a hug from the work day. One soft squish and a smile will hit ya'll every time. They were there with us when it was dark at night and there were monsters livin under our beds in the dark. They were there with us when on Family Guy,Chris has an evil monkey in his closet. We took them everywhere we went in our young selves. Even if we had ta leave them at home,ya always had the imagination to let them be with ya. Teddy Bears have been around for centuries.


This is Mike's favorite Teddy Bear. His name is Angus. He was bought special as a Christmas gift for Mike. From an antique store. He's been with us for about 15 years. He is jointed and fully posible. He stands about 18" tall. Pretty good size!



This little guy stands at 10". He's been around for a long time. I'm talkin bout a long time. Mike got him on ebay about a year ago. He is well loved.





The Teddy Bear on the right was rescued from an antique store. He needed our lovin pretty bad. A face only a mother could love. The one on the left is the 100th year anniversary bear from Gund.



This Bear has been in Mike's family for years and years. Durin the 1960's,this bear belonged to Mike's sister. Mike's mother had given this bear to a neighbor. His Mother passed away and they went to take her house apart and ready it for sale. The neighbor came to Mike and told him she had this bear still and wondered if He wanted it back. Mike was so glad to get the bear back. He was in bad shape. Mike had to restuffed it. He hand washed the bear in the un-stuffed shape. You would not believe the dirt that came out of that fake fur. had to embroider him a new nose. Now he's as good as he can be in this year of 2008. Funny,Mike's sister didn't want the bear. We are guessin she thought she was to old to keep sake this treasure. I'd say after this bear has protected your life from monsters under the bed in your youth,We at least owe him a good retirement! Mike is now and will always be young at heart and treasures this bear! Mike was the one whom played with the bear anyway as a child. His sister never really cared for it. It was only right Mike adopt the bear. Mike doesn't remember if the bear has ever had a real name. That is something only Mike and the Bear can come up with.



This Panda Teddy bear of the 50's has an interestin story to tell. One day Mike was on the way to the grocery store to fetch dinner for the evenin. On the way he noticed this Teddy Bear layin in the front yard of an old house. Day after day the Teddy bear laid in that yard. The rain storms would soak him. It snowed on the bear. That bear had not moved. Finally Mike noticed that the house was abandoned. He went and picked the bear up. It was wet and muddy. Mike thought, I'll give it a try. So once again he un-stuffed another bear. Took this bear to the sink. Things didn't look good for him. Mike went to scrubbin the fake fur with a nail brush. The rest is history! He is fine and well and livin here with us. We felt so sorry for this abandoned bear. Now he's as happy as a bear can be.



This bear was rescued from a flea market. With a 4.00 price tag,Mike was over to cashier so fast,all I saw was a fast! This bear only had one ear. Mike took the existin ear off and took the two pieces of fabric apart to make two ears. He then got some zebra fabric for the front side of each ear. Re-stuffed,wash and ya'll know the routine. Only the white fur on his chest did end up turnin pink from the hot water it took to get his fur clean. Opps! He just looks like a valentine bear now. Problem solved!

Tally Ho!!!

I love the start to a new day. There are no mistakes in it. Well not yet anyway. And how are my Possums this mornin? I'm doin fine and well. Mike is doin great on his diet! He and Savannah Jane went walkin in the park yesterday. Burnin lots of calories! Work it guys! I'm here at pot side this mornin watchin the pinto beans cook. Fat free and lots of fiber and protein. Don't they look yummy simmerin away there on the stove. They also smell good. My red heeled mouth just waterin all over the place. Slice up a few raw onions and dinner is served! Must have the home grown tomatos sliced as well. Our tomato plants are really producin at present. Will be sad to see them start to die off as fall and winter slip into place. I think we have a while before that becomes reality. I'm gonna saver every bite of my tomatos. Got a Christmas catalog in the mail the other day. Sure wish it was the Sears catalog like we use to get as kids. It was always so much fun to lay in the livinroom floor and dream about whats in the Sears catalog. But that's a story for another time.


Always remember to take time to smell the roses and possies. The good Lord put them here for our enjoyment! Boy dose their aroma fill the air! I know life gets a bit much from time to time,so plan time in each day to do so. You'll be glad ya did. It also relieves stress from the daily grind.

It's Mike's Friday!

TGIF for Mike today. I know it's only Tuesday,but Mike's off for the next two days! Wednesday and Thursday party! Mike and I did go to ITunes last night and buy a couple of songs for our library. Now if we could only get them onto our Ipod! Savannah Jane is comin over tomorrow to show us how to do this very thing.



This is Savannah Jane. She is Mike's walkin partner. They are losin weight together. Their gonna walk in the park tomorrow and then come here to our house for the Ipod downloadin! Isn't that excitin? I sure think it is.
The town house next door to us has been sold. The new owners are remodelin it. They have gutted it. Lots of construction goin on. We hear hammerin and the like. Not to bad. There are block walls inbetween each unit for fire safety.


Hey! I lost my marbles! Oh....here they are. Sorry for that Possums. I am a Sock Monkey after all. Aren't the colors pretty? I love marbles. My favorite ones are the swirley ones.



The forecast for today calls for rain and it is overcast at present. No rain in sight as of yet. What a shame Mike can't stay home on this rainey day. He loves stayin home on rainey days.



That's the way the rooster crows. The hens all swoon when he does so. They think he's hot! The chicken stud. The little yellow chickens they produce are darlin! That's my Tuesday blog. Bubba
