Saturday and then some

Photobucket

Well Possum's? Here ole Bubba is again wonderin through the woods and weeds of the Tennessee mountains. As the story unfolds...We had went for another country drive. We were out enjoyin nature and what it has to offer. I always find some neet little old shack of in the weeds and fun to explore.
Photobucket

This log cabin we could barely see from the road. My staff and I parked the car on the side  of the road to investigate. It appeared that it had been there for quite some time. We did however, find a date and name craved into the fireplace stone outside. I don't rightly remember the name that appeared with it but the date was 1900.

I love findin these kinds of things. I walked around with my camera as I usaully do.

The tax auction

Photobucket

Good mornin Possum's! I'm down town in front of the Nashville court house! We decided to take in one of the tax auctions to see what this is all about. Anyone can join in on one of these auctions. Pay the back taxes and own these porperties! Now Bubba's not into this on a normal basis, but it was something to check out mainly out of curiousity.
Photobucket

A hush falls over the audience as we are about to go in. I have to ride through the xray machine Possum's! The only thing that showed up was my button eyes!
Photobucket

Here I am after signin up to be a bidder. This is my biddin number. Keep in mind I'm not here to bid, but only observe the process. We watched as one woman bought a property for $423.00.  After the auction we decided to drive out and look at the property she had purchased durin our mornin tax auction.

Photobucket

The little house was what we found. I thought it was cute enough. But what lay inside beyond the front door was left over flood damage from the floods of 2010. It was scary. My human was in the hospital durin the floods last years, so it wasn't the best time for flood coverage.

This house can never be lived in again by order of the state of Tennessee. There was a sign posted of the front door. The sign read...Not fit for human habitation. The house itself is riddled with black mold and Hepititus. Don't worry I didn't go inside. This was me viewin it from the front entrance way. Pretty bad wouldn't you say? I can't even imagine the horror these folks went through! The previous owners. This house has to be torn down and burned by law.

Photobucket

What a sad state of affairs. I found this rockin horse out in the back yard. Everything from these peoples lives completely trashed. We had no idea this kind of damage had occurred due to our hospital stay. I noticed tears runnin down my humans face. And as stated from the grinach story....His heart grew three sizes that day.

I had more to blog about today , but the sadness is to much to handle just now. Bubba

A country drive

Photobucket

Good mornin Possum's! Hows the Wednesday mornin stuff treatin ya'll so far? Yesterday was such a beautiful day I decided to take a nice drive in the country. You know get a away from all the drama of the big city. Breath in some fresh air and just enjoy the gazebo by the pond.  A scenic drive such as this is what a soul needs from time to time. The gazebo and pond was something I saw on the side of the road and decided to stop for a kodak moment...for these are the days of my life. Pay no attention to the Green Achres theme being played in my head. Keep manhattan just give me that country side.
Photobucket

I was oh so curious as I was passin this place. I originally thought it was a an old barn. I love old barns and wanted to take a closer look. I pulled the car off the side of the road and got out. I carefully walked through the weeds to get closer. What I found was... this use to be a two room house. Really? I thought to myself. The door was open as this place has been abandoned for quite some time. It got curiuoser and curiouser. I just had to go inside and take a look. Don't worry my Possum's...I was very careful to make sure the place could support the weight of my staff and I.

Photobucket

The floor seemed sturdy enough to stand on. This old fireplace is what we found inside. This two room house was just on this side of rottin to the ground. It was fun to explore.
Photobucket

This is the overall picture of what it looked like. This old country road was really a nice exploration and I would like to travel it further one day when I have more time. I do have appearances to make and all bein the mega star that I am. This shall simply have to wait for another day. I do hope that I've kept you entertained for at least just a moment. Have a pleasent Wednesday Possum's! Bubba

Tuesday's off to a good start

Photobucket

Great day in the Tuesday mornin Possum's! The fall temps continue here in the country music city. It's a nice mornin to sit out and have a cup of Joe. My house staff and I have been named the porch peeple as we like to sit out on the porch and solve the worlds problems over coffee. All the neighbors stare in our direction. They have forgotten how to sit back and enjoy life. Porch sittin seems to be a thing of the past. We do see our regulars walk by on occasion with a quick wave and a pleasent hello. The dogs in our yard bark an eagar hello. Have I got a story about that. I'll save it for another time as we didn't bring the cameras out on the porch with us. This one ya'll won't believe! But it's quite real and truly amazin! One of our dogs is quite the topic of the neighborhood. It's one of those believe or not kind of things.

Photobucket

This is one of the pictures left over from the train yard blog of yesterday. I did take a train ride trip back in my past. Just did it to see what it was like. It was an enjoyable thing to do. A romantic of things gone by. A slower time in our great history.
Photobucket

So from the steps of the Nashville capital, I tip my hat to my Possum's and bid ya'll a wonderful Tuesday. I will close the Sock Drawer and be on my way. Peace out Possum's! Bubba
