Celebrate my Possum possey

Hello my Possum Possey! Wow! As I type in Bubba's Sock Drawer into my search engine just to see what pops up, I was amazed to find many friends that I have been friends with for many years! We've all been through website together and My Space and face book. Now pretty much all of us have gone into the blog thing! Funny how we all have seen each other through our growin pains on the world wide web, but we Sock Monkeys are evlovin! It is a joy to have my Possum Possey and what a difference it makes to each day when we get to see the travels we each make. True my travels have quieted down in the last few years,but many more adventures await Bubba's Sock Drawer! Today I have set aside this day to celebrate my Possum's! SOCK MONKEY HOLIDAY! I wrote it on my calendar!



I put the top down and go for a wind blown ride to celebrate this glorious holiday! Enjoy your summer Possum's! Bubba

The fireworks

What a great day to be alive Possum's! And a good day to ya'll. The air outside is hot and muggy. Mike decided I needed a new outfit. He bought this fabric last July for the 4th celebration. It has explodin fireworks all over it makin it very colorful. The way I see it? I am wearin the party! I trust ya'll had a good memorial day! Rest and relaxation on this end. The freedom that many Americans frought and died for is wonderful! May God rest their souls for givin their lives for this great country of ours. True the economy is barely squeekin by these days, we'll all survive it somehow. Hey! Just tighten our belts and make your sock monkey a new outfit. What come be more fun than that? Memorial Day

Well....Here's the memorial Day Version in Nashville! Just get out your guitar and hum a little tune. America the beautiful! Thanks to all the men and women who died to make this all possible! If it were not for them we would not be sittin behind our computers doin my Sock Drawer blog today. We ar truely thankful for them all.



Get the watermelon out and take a big ole bite out of it! Now spit the seeds across the backyard! Yes Possum's! We are truely free to take part in this artistic expression! Take the rhine left over and slap somebody up side the head! Please don't try this at home...it is only meant for a laugh or two.



Hot dog! Memorial Day fun for everyone! Maybe tonight to continue the fun...we'll step out onto the front porch to see the fire works! Happy Day Possum's! Bubba

Saturdays are great

It's a great day in the mornin Possum's! Beautiful day to out in the garden with my coffee! Strollin through the flowers hummin a little song as I go!



Peekin at the wonderful things I find. The air is cool and the sun is shinin! The birds are singin and happy to be in their nest.





Breath in the fresh air! Breath out the stresses from the past week. Now didn't that feel good?

The Storm

Hello my Possum's!!! This is what it looked like at 4:00 A.M. Tuesday mornin when the storm started! Some say we had a tornado come through! Huge trees went flyin and telephone poles came crashin down! It was the biggest mess! I am here to report on all the damage!



As you can see in this picture, the trees layin all around the park nearby. Yes...they get worse as we go through this blog and report. I am sorry to say I was down for several days. No cable Tele or internet for my bloggin. The power was out for two days in the entire neighborhood. All stores and traffic lights out as well.



The power lines hangin from every pole still standin! I was very careful not to step on them. I would have been fried to a crisp! I'm already golden brown! Don't need to be crispy along with it! I like the original recipe better! So my red heel smile still intacted!



It was a sight to see. The blessin in all this you ask? All the neighbors on my street came together out on our front lawns and grilled our food for all to eat! People helpin people! Was a fun time!



Lit only by our lanterns and candles that evenin. The social went way into the we hours of the night. It is a wonder we all made it through this again. We have been havin many bad storms this year. Today is the first time I have been able to come online and share this event.

Trees down everywhere I look! Chainsaws goin 24-7! The buzz continues on and on!

I sit on the back of the Public work trucks. The light was actually flashin but did not show up in photo.



Another blessin in all this is the down pours made one of my flowers open! Just a drop of beauty in all the mess. So...everything is tryin to get back to normal. I am thankful I can continue my blogs at will. Have a happy safe and blessed day! Bubba

Mosey through Monday

It's Monday, so I just mosey myself on down to the Piggly Wiggly. Love that name! It's fun to say!!!! Little ole grocery store on the side of the road kind of thing. Partly cloudy with a drop of sunshine. It was rainin early this mornin. My tomato plants gettin a drink of water. A timely breeze flutters by for an enjoyable afternoon. The chiken from the Piggley Wiggly bakin in the nuke-krowave.

Woooo-whhoooo! Jackpot! The coca cola truck along just in time! Diet coke please! Maybe I should just shake them all up real good! Cokes would be spewin all over the state! But that wouldn't be neighborly now would it? Twas a funny thought.



I didn't so that's what made the difference. Happy Monday! Bubba

Lets all do the Friday dance

Howdy doo Peeps , Possum's and all around in general good down home Sock People! Been up to a little garden work this week and thought I'd share it with ya'll. This here is Gerber daisies and lavendar planted in a pot together. The yellow up against my red color background will almost put your eyes out to look at it. Bright colors are always cheerful and welcome to me. The lavendar has a wonderful smell if you rub your hand on it. Take a deep long breath.



Our little garden is growin and lookin real pretty this year. A nice place to relax in the backyard. Garden in a bucket is what I call it. The bucket garden! Got a bucket? make a garden. Head to the thrift stores for the little bird houses and what not to decorate it with.



I was a sittin here last night watchin Futurama and a thinkin about my little garden. The joys of Summer are always so pretty. Keep your fingers crossed that our tomato plants produce fruit this year!!!! Happy Friday to you all and close the Sock Drawer! Bubba
