The front lawn

Sock Monkeys just want to have fun! So out onto the front lawn Fletcher and I went! We decided to have a spot of tea out on the front lawn in picnic style,and so we did! The sunny day just beautiful for such an event! In the 70's as of right now,but the radio says it's gonna be in the 80's today. Wow What a wonderful fall day! We all had a good laugh over the funny looks the neighbors gave us. Mike didn't care,he just snapped the photo anyway! Let's all join hands and sing! LOL! Well...a song for this fun occashion does not come to mind just now,but I'm sure Fletcher is on it! He's kinda quiet at times but that's okay cause I like to jabber! Cantrell's Bar-B--Q

I was a sitting here wondering why after 5 years of living in Nashville,Is Canntrell's Bar-B-Q Still on my list of things to do? So Mike and I got in the car and headed on back down there! Time to scratch it off the list!



This water fountain just a waitting on Old Bubba to sit a spell and enjoy this beautiful blessed day! It gave me a chance to ponder what's on the menu.



This lovely sweet Lady was all to kind to help us and join in on the photo shoot of Mike and mines lunchen! The sweetest Lady you'd ever want to meet!


She even offered me bananas! How sweet is that!? But this Sock Monkey was after the Bar-B-Q! So I politely order the shoulder sandwich which came with Lays potato chips and water for the sum of $5.46. That included state tax as well! Cain't beat that!


I pulled myself up a chair to chow down on some Bar-B-Q goodness! WOW! Was it ever so good! So good it brought tears to my button eyes! Lunch never tasted so good.



And for dessert,I was eyeballing the Nanner pudding! Mike and I were to full to eat another bite. So we passed on the dessert fabulosity! If my Possum's want to know where to find this grest eatery, It's on the corner of Cleveland street and Lishey Here in Nashville! I'd say it's time for a Sock Monkey nap!Bubba

Tuesday happenings

Hello Possum's! It's a beautiful yellow polka dotted pig day! My Dad and I went to the post office this morning and saw this pig at a Bar-B-Q place. What a great photo op! To goood to pass up! We turned into the lot and went to work on our photo shoot. The silly things in life make life worth living! It's the cement pig picture of the day! We've never tried this Bar-B-Q place but is on our list of things to do sometime! I'll bet it'll be wonderful! Wonder if these folks ever entered any of the Bar-B-Q cook offs I've seen on the food network? I'll make a point to ask when we finally do dine there. S,oking a pig over an open fire! Makes my Sock Monkey mouth water. I can smell it now.



Check this one out! Meat and two veggies! Yum Yum. Howdy doo chef! Don't mind if I do! This is another place we've never tried. We have passed this chef many times on the way to the grocery store and everytime we wanted to stop for the picture. This time we did. We decided life's to short to pass this up! Football

I've heard so much about this Football thing, I thought I'd check it out. Saw this football laying in the street and was curious about it. Being a Sock Monkey of sound mind and body, have heard alot about this human sport. I do know this is mainly a winter sport. That's fine cause tonight's temps are suppose to reach freezing in Middle Tenn. Here I am staring the old pig skin in the face and not knowing what to do with it! I've never played any sport in my sock life. This being the Charlie Brown's 60th anniversary as Lucy holds the football for old Charlie Brown to kick and yanks it away when Charlie runs up to kick the ball. He always lands on his back!


Keeping this in mind when my Dad ask me if he should hold the ball so I can kick it. I politely refused and smiled for the camera! Always the celebrity even with a football dilemma!




I tried tackling it,but that didn't go so well. I just rolled over and tumbled in the grass. Ended up laying on my back much like Charlie Brown. It was worth a try and not to worry,I left the football so whomever it belongs to can still claim it.Bubba

Monday news

I know all my Peeps were waiting on the next Pumpkin pose of old Bubba. Went down to the local Walmart and posed for you guys. I just dearly love fall time and all it has to offer. The colors are so warm and inviting. No pumpkin buying for me this year! They always end up sitting around and turning to mush LOL! And as you saw in earlier blogs, We always have them for the snow that comes along in February. We'll pass on it this time. I'll just continue using the store displays. I won't ya'll to know...No one bats an eye when I come out of the back pack for photo shoots!


One of my friends on Facebook crocheted this Sock Monkey and entered it in the stuffed animal catagory at her state fair. She one a ribbon! That's exciting new for Sock Monkeys everywhere! Love to see the success of Sock Monkey artist out and about. I hope your work days are filled with blessings and I think I'll go and run a bubble bath. Bye for now!Bubba

Scooby Doo where are you

Scooby Doo! Where are you? This is Mike's dog Scooby Doo. He has been Mike's best friend for almost 12 years. He is Chihuahua/German Sheppard mix. I know it was a surprise to me too! But anyway...Great even tempered dog and great to be with! He is the love of Mike's life! Well....besides me that is. Mike keeps me as a reminder of how hard it was for Jesus to carry him.



It is cold here this morning with a 42 degree temp. There is frost on our car windshield! The first frost of the season. Out came our little plug in heater! The update on the chair redo! The upolstery is now off, after hours of pulling staples. The paint job has started. We have to wait for it to warm up today continue. Don't want the paint to remain sticky as it will never dry in the cold temps. The sun has come up today after a cloudy day yesterday. So this afternoon my Dad will be painting some more.
