Chilly Tuesday

Up up and away! Hot air balloons Possums! Wow! Colorful background for a chilly Tuesday mornin. Possums,it's so cold outside,ya'll's tongue will freeze to your coffee mug even on the inside! Walkin the dogs this mornin was no picnic! Chi Chi pops! Chihuahuas get cold very easy! Bless their tiny little gitty hoppers. They have settled down in front of the heater when they came back inside. I joined them as we huddled up in close for warmth.
Sooo....now you've seen the balloon fabric behind me,what'da ya'll think? Mike bought this piece ta make me a new suit. Look pretty nazzi on my Sock Monkey self. Ya'll guessed it. From the trip ta Hobby Lobby yesterday. It was also 30% off! We decided a new set of clothes was in order. Maybe he'll get down ta makin them today. Get his designer fashions goin on up in here! I'll be sure ta get back with ya'll later if he does. I'll have ta model it for ya'll. Walkin the runway!



The trains are headed down the track this mornin across the street. The world is up and runnin!

Monday stuff

I'm here sittin on top of the world this Monday! Sock Monkeys always come out on top of the world! Ready for anything. Anyting is possible.



It's simply the black and white of things. And as ya'll can see,Hobby Lobby was kind enough to provide our sets For The Sock Drawer blog. Big heartfelt thanks out to them for their generosity. By the way.....they do sale Sock Monkey Socks. Just in case ya'll were wonderin.


Pull yourselves up a chair and have a sit down with me. I baked ya'll some fruit tarts. It'll be just a minute before the coffee is done brewin. While ya'll are gettin comfy,I'll tall ya all bout our trip to the H.Lobby today.



I don't have ta tell ya'll I was the Popcorn in the bowl! Poppin fresh where ever I go. Please don't put me in the micro. It ain't pretty ta see a Sock brother go poof! The Universe is good and I am greatful!



It was a sunny but cold day out today. The high only 30 degrees. Twill be another cold,cold night in Nashville. We also had "The dark and stormy night" this week as well. Some serious stormim up in here. And well frankly.....we had snow as well. One day it even got up to 72 degrees! All rolled up into one week! Seriously fierce.....



If ya'll haven't already done it,ya need ta put the Mardi Gra mask away till next year. Mike and I clinked and wine glass or two for that. Well ya know...a toast was in order. HAPPY MARDI GRA! Kind of thang. By the time ya git all that stuff takin care of,along comes ST. Pattys day! The out come all the green one can muster. The green beer! Goin green couldn't be more fun on that day. I'm just sayin..........I think our ancestors were lookin for any excuse ta tip a glass,if ya'll ask me. So on that day,everyone in the free world is Irish! Let's party!

The quilt of the matter

The quilt of the matter is,we got this quilt at the thrift store. Not bad for $18.99! Mike and I liked the colors so much we brought it home! It is a homemade quilt for those of ya'll wonderin. Made with the old double knit fabric of the 60's. Ya'll know,It's when polyester made its appearance. That'll give ya'll a little history lesson on the textiles of the day. Ya'll know I'm a folkart lover.



Mike and I just had ta play with the camera. We started lookin around ta see what would look good in the photos. Ya'll better work! I must say it's all lookin good on the colors!


Another Teddy Bear has graced our door jam. He was pretty dirty upon his arrival. Mike gave him a good wash up! He turned out lookin like new! Hangin in the carnival good! Must have just been sittin around since the 60's! I have ta tell ya Possums,Mike can work a Teddy Bear! If it needs love,he's right there with a needle and thread and a glass of wine. No Teddy Bear task to big or small! Many need new stuffin! The stuffin of the 60's always looks like something they swepted up off the floor somewhere in an old factory. Course back then it may well have been. All I know is our dogs were very attracted to it whatever it was. If that's not enough ta scare ya'll,I don't know what will. Polyfil has taken the place of the Nasty.

A rainy day hello Possums! Many of you wanted ta see my photo with the rubber faced monkey. Here it is! He's the coolest thing. I trust all ya'll are doin well here in the middle of the week! Hang on,cause Fridays comin! Ya'll have a great Wednesday and I'll catch ya on the flip side. Bubba

Tea cakes and crumbles

The hearts have all flown out the window now that it's all over. I must say that all of Mike's cakes were sold completely out! Love was in the air over his sweets! That is perfectly ok.
Mike and I had the most wonderful day off for Valentines. He worked on his own V-day present to himself. It was finished and we will show you what it is here in just a mintue. He had two Teddy Bears on the cuttin table that needed finishin with their refurbishin. They are now done and have joined the ranks of all the other Teddy Bears in his collection. It was a fun day for us both.

Now. If ya'll remember the old rubber faced monkeys from the 60's that held a banana in his hand.They usually had rubber white shoes. Yellow and black fur. Mike just happened to find the face,hands,ears and feet of a rubber nature,on ebay. He was curious about if he could make this monkey. Was interested in usin the Monkey brown work socks for his body. This one is a little different in the fact it has sleep eyes. They close when ya lay him down. We were in love with his feet! They are so funny. I was quite pleased at his cunnin artistic ability ta pull this project together. The face and feet and hands sat around here for months before he got the courage ta give it a try. Once he started the project,he was wonderin why he hadn't started it sooner.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines day Possums! I'm sure your sweetheart will enjoy your snuggley wuggley,snookum,kissey wissey widdle Valentines. I'm snuggled up in my Sock Monkey slippers Watchin Alice in Wonderland starin Tina Majorino. My what a talented actress she is. And what better way ta spend Valentines day! To many ladies for me ta deal with,so I hide out.



Lots of stuff ta cover on this lovey day. I certainly don't condoan any sort of Valentine wish for the apaulin A.K.! In fact I hope her friday the 13th continues on 4-ever! Please excuse me Possums for such a horrid thing,but some need puttin in their place. Now,back to our pleasentries.....





A card and a heart decorated pair of Sock Monkeys are certainly a cute way to love ya'll's sweetheart. Some might think not,but we're not studyin them today. A frown and a wrinkled nose up in the air ta such nonsense! Off with their heads!!! LOL! In the spirit of Wonderland mind ya.



There is always the Sock Monkey art portrait on hand for the art lover. Would look lovely hangin over the fireplace. Add a few candles and one would consider this very romantic! I in fact know the temp will come down ta 35 degrees this evenin. A roarin fire should hit the spot.



Be mine Possums! Well...at least until this day is over. I shall hope ya'll will be my friends always.



And please don't faint on my account. It's merely an invitation. Certainly not an order or demand for that matter. Love thy Possums. For it tis the 11th commanment!



Ms. Megan says she'd like ta stop in for a glass of wine in the up comin weeks. I shall keep a glass chilled for her.



A bushel and a peck of roses for my blog Possums on this day of red and pink love day! Aren't they beautiful? The Lord is truely an artist! At least I didn't have ta paint them red as in Wonderland. They have taken on color of their own! The roseyness fills the air!



Let me offer ya'll a pretty heart cupcake for a Valentines treat! Where are my manners for not offerin earlier on in my Kisssey day blog! How rude of me. Do forgive me Possums. A tastey treat indeed.



My human,Mike, Has one of the best jobs around. He gets ta make these holiday wonderous treats of choice! Aren't they pretty? One should be honored ta receive such a delectible and delicous morsel!



Perhaps I could interest ya'll in a strawberry mousse delight? Made with the finest Ganache in all the land! Stirred gently into the creamiest chocolate ta ever touch ones lips!



I heart you Possums! Each and every one of ya'll! I shall send my finest Valentines wish ta each and everyone of ya'll!
