Boo! LOL! Hello my Peeps and Possum's! It's Friday afternoon and a cloudy overcast day here in Nashville. It did rain a bit this mornin. Love rainy days. Chillin out in front of the TV. The aroma of fresh turnip green cookin fills the air. Mike and I went to the thrift store earlier. Didn't find any treasures that were piticularly interestin. Sorry I don't have a good thrift store story. No great dolls lerkin in the corner or any teapots. Very sad indeed when that happens. Now I say to ya Possums,please bring all your old dolls from the 50's and 60's to my thrift store. I promise to take good care of them.

Midweek!

Happy midweek Possum's! Mike's been eatin his salads. He's losin weight like crazy! Way ta go! He's doin very well on his diet. Been excercisin everyday.
I see everyone made it through the holiday and back to work and school. Midweeks here. TGIF in two days! So keep on smilin! This is a short week for most of ya'll. Fall is in the air. Love the fall of the year. To me it's the prettiest time of the year. The changin of the leaves and all. Almost time to carve the pumpkins! That's always fun. Messy,but fun. I wonder if there will be any pumpkin carvin contest here in Nashville this year? Would love to visit it. If I find one ya'll can sure bet I'll be Johnny on the spot with my digital camera! I will share my findins here in my blogs. That will sure be fun to display. I also know that the Botanical gardens here have a scarecrow display every Halloween. I'll try and make it out this year for the shots to share with ya'll as well. The Tennesee state fair is up and comin as well. So there will be lots of stuff goin on in my blogs this next few months. Bubba is the Sock Monkey about town.



Here is a picture of a little scarecrow doll to keep entertained in the meantime. The little scarecrow doll was an ebay find. Eventhough she is factory made,she still has the appearance of a home made doll. Mike loves the old rag dolls. His Grandmother use to make rag dolls. She kept a shoebox under the bed that contained two little rag dolls he played with all his life growin up. Their names were Molly and Polly. They each had a complete wardrobe of clothes. It was always a treat to visit Mama Lockie's house and play with the little dolls. Mama Lockie was a very talented woman. She painted pictures and had them hangin all over her house. And she loved collectin pretty dishes. Mike takes after her in the artistic world.


The horse picture was painted by Mama Lockie. Mike has kept this picture safe all his life. Has treasured it!



Mike love these old silver plated coffee pots. He finds them at the thrift store for a couple of bucks. Has a small collection of them. The more tarnished they are the better he likes them. They have character.
The IPod mike ordered from overstock.com has yet to come. UPS has been here twice and Mike has missed them. Hopefully they will bring it today and we will receive it. Sometimes UPS can be a pain in the butt! They won't leave it in the mailbox,Mike has to sign for it in person. He tried to get them to do so by fillin out the little yellow slip that they leave,but to no avail. The next yellow slip he got said he had to sign in person. That sux! Maybe we'll have the luck on our side today. God will take care of us. Have a great Wednesday! Bubba

The day after.

Good mornin Possum's! It's the day after! Labor day has come and gone once again. The cook outs long since over. Time to settle back into fall and winter mode now. Next stop Thanksgivin! I can smell that turkey cookin now! And it smells fabulous! The folks that came into WF last night were just shoppin. They did not celebrate the holiday so it seems. The store was busy all night! Can't believe folks get the holiday off from their jobs and all they do is grocery shop. It's a sad state of affairs.


What about this hurricane happenin in New Orleans? Can ya'll believe it? Not again! Those poor people! I'd take that as a sign it's time ta move to another state! No more ocean front property for me!



Here I am in Paris Tennessee! Yep! They have one! It's there behind me. Weird isn't it? It made for a good picture anyway.



I'm all dressed up to wish ya'll the greatest Tuesday ever! It's gonna be a fabulous day! Now that I see the world does not care about Sock Monkey happenin's, It's all good! Me-N-Mike are havin a party! Doin the Sock Monkey cha-cha! Bubba

Followin the train down the track

Good mornin Possum's! I'm just sittin here on the train track of life,watchin the trains go bye if ya will. In a manner of speakin that is. Sometimes the train of life is goin so fast it's hard ta keep up.



So I just sit here sometimes with my mornin coffee and watch the train of life go on bye and I don't even try to keep up. Am I bad? The rat race keeps runnin through the maze. Rat race? As If!



Have ya'll ever seen a Sock Monkey cake before? Well here it is! Olde Bubba knew ya couldn't make it through the day without seein one. Now ya'lls day can be complete. Ya'll can go to your jobs and tell all your friends that you've seen one. My human made it on his job. He's a cake decorator. And a dam good one too!



If there are any other Sock Monkey lovers out there,why ya'll can jump in at anytime. Would love ta meet-cha! We'll just jaw all day long bout Sock Monkeys! Mike has a pretty big collection of them.



This is my circle of friends. This is only a small portion of Mike's collection. We Sock Monkeys can bring a smile to anyones face if ya'll let us. So in closin this mornin,I hope everyone has a Happy Labor day! Bubba

Good mornin Possum's,gems and jewels! Never fear Bubba's here to spread Friday mornin cheer! Doin the Sock Monkey cha-cha! I know there were bout 19 folks peekin in on my blogs this week! How cool is that? Why don't-cha stop in and comment? I promise to answer each and every one of ya'll. Don't be shy! I must apologize for my pic's bein cut off. I had them sized for My Space and they seem to be a little bit over sized some of them. I'll have to find a size that works for this blog. In the mean time just bare with me. This blog is a little bit different from My Space. I have yet to learn all it's workins. But I'm a smart Sock Monkey and I'll figure it all out in good time.




In the mean time,I'll just sit here and enjoy my watermelon! The summers comin to a close pretty fast. September will be here on Sunday. Labor day comin up this Monday. The last cookout of the year.
My Human has ordered himself an Ipod for the first time. He's pretty excited about it. Ya see Possum's,Mike is 49 years old and he's a little slow about keepin up with technology. I suppose I'll have ta polk him on the shoulder now just ta speak with him. He'll have those ear plugs in all the time.



Here I am sittin with this Raggedy Andy doll. Yes I know he looks a little different than your average Andy doll. Ya see,He came to us in bad shape. Mike is all about fixin them up when they come ta us. He decided to make him a patch work creation. The patches serve as his cloths. Not ta mention it also holds him together. Turned out really cool. Mike pretty much has magic hands when it comes ta sewin and art. Doll restoration one of his passions. And is quite good at it.
