The Farmers Market
Yes we're open Possum's! General Sock Lovers are welcome to come on in and look around! Todays adventure is brought to you by the letter X. There are some that say it 's brought to you by the letter o and the color green. What do I say Possum's? Ya'lls Bubba says it's brought to ya'll by the brown work sock! Hey! Ask for Bubba! We opened The Sock Drawer this mornin pretty early and headed on out to the Farmers Market in Nashville.
So Early there wasn't very many people around as of yet! The Farmers were just startin to set up their veggie wears and fruits of the weeks growin pattern of the south.
The Bar-B-Q had just been put put on the pit for the days customers. I meant the pig had been put on the pit. The Bar-B-Q is a result of puttin the pig on the pit! The neon light had just been turned on to start the day off. The coffee brewin as the aroma fills the air.
Now there's a good little Farmers market! That's what I'm talkin bout! Home grown tomatos!5 lbs. for $5.00! Cain't beat that as I loaded them into the back of the Bubba-mobile. They shore was good for supper! Had to wash the dirt plum off them! Fresh off the vine!
The cement woman quite agrees bout the tasty tomatos! She served them to her little cement children to night before. Her cement husband worked late. Someone had to hold the water jug drippin water into the fountain! Cement family came from miles around. Gardens everywhere were missin their fountain jug holders! But I think it's safe to say the grass got watered.
The Lions and I all took a vote and decided they would all live happily ever after!
Sure as the iron rooster crows! I have to say the Farmers market is quite the adventure!
Ya'll can folllow me on tweeter! LOL! I couldn't resist! Actually ya'll can only follow me here in Bubba's Sock Drawer.
They got all kind of stuff for your garden! But we won't talk bout that! Kind of a nasty subject with my Dad. Sssssshhhhh! Don't say it out loud!
Just look! Don't say anything!
As I sit by the ceramic mushrooms....It's time to close The Sock Drawer again on another day! Bubba

Walking down the path
Hello my Possum's! Was ya'll thinkin I had forgotten about you guys? Not this time! You see? I was walkin down the path one day and came upon something kind of wonderful. Bein the curious Sock Monkey I am , I decided to check it all out for my Possum's and Peeps. This path looked as if there was something quite interestin to check out.
This is what I found! The Bicentennial Mall Park. A great place near by the Farmers market!
So close I was able to walk on over to the farmers market and grab this shot of a tomato work of art. Sculpture at the Farmers market! Where else would I find a giant tomato?
Ya'll know there's got to be a corn sculpture as well! Check it out!
While photographin by the corn and tomato sculptures...I suddenly heard the chimes of the hour over at the park! I had to go and check it out. These are the biggest chimes I've ever seen in my life! Turns out they chime every hour on the hour. Plays a pretty chimed song and very relaxin to your park stay.
I walk on up the path through the park to see what else this curious park had to offer.
What's this? Concrete Stone Henge? Turns out the history of Tennessee is printed on the other side. But I like the Stone Henge theory better, So we'll just stay on this side. I'm thinkin UFO...LOL!
I shall sit here a spell and think upon this for a moment. Could the TN. dot Gov. be keepin something from us? Or Maybe that's what they want us to think to hide something else! Sounds like an investigation for the SCI-FI channel! Imagination don't fail me now! I'm on a roll!
Could this be the Sock Monkey sacrifice stone of long ago? I don't see any polyester fluff layin around so maybe I'm just lost in the concrete jungle!
These lovelys are left over from the temple of democracy! The capital from the 1800's! Stop it! It's not remains of Atlantis! Do ya'll see water anywhere?
This park is the coolest thing since sliced bread! Dark chocolate good! rubbin your tummy and pattin your head good! Rollin your button eyes good! Just loaded full of goodies!
Have ya'll ever seen a marble this big?
Turns out to be the earth made out of black marble. Floatin and turnin on water. The coolest thing! It's actually spinnin.
Looks like they been settin up the stage cause they knew ole Bubba was a comin! OK! Who leaked out my celeb status?
Well Possum's...That about covers the park by the Farmers market! Hope you've enjoyed your visit and it's time to close The Sock Drawer on another day! Peace out! Bubba

Thursday again
Hello Possum's of The Sock Drawer warehouse! Well it's Thursday again! The temps are up in the 90's and pretty hot this time of year. I'm out by the fountain tryin ta chill out a bit. As I walk around the hood, I see the aftermath of the 4th celebration. The old neighborhood is covered in fireworks bits and pieces of paper of explosion. Even days later the folks are still usin up the left over fireworks that didn't get used. The fire crackers are still poppin. It's over guys! Give it a rest! It's true we're free and it is something to celebrate, but now it's time to move on with our lives. For those of you that missed the flag pose....well this is for you.........
The Besty Ross will be flyin high and proud!
I'll just take another sniff of my flower and breath in it's aroma. Take a minute to ponder whats really important in life. What's that ya'll ask? Why...Sock Monkeys!!! Not the silly mass produced ones! They are a different breed all their own. Some things are better left to the folk artist! Same thing happened to Raggedy ANN and Andy. But that's a story for another time. It really bothers me when companies do these things. It seems to take all the charm out of it. Faces all the same and cheaply done. I guess folks are to busy these days to sit down with a needle and thread and imagine! True.. there are no buttons to push and no fancy beeps goin on...and we only move around for those brave enough to imagine!
The imagination is not for the faint hearted! Sock Monkeys? They don't have to be plugged in and charged! We are charged by what's in your brain and heart alone. Dare to dream Possum's! We still have hours of fun left in us for those who believe in us! Long live the Sock Monkey! No one knows the womans name who invented us back in the 30's, but we take our hats off to her for her wonderful folk artist imagination! Without her we would still be a pile of dirty socks on the floor of someones bedroom. Thoughts to ponder as we go into Thursday! Bubba

The fouth celebration
Hello Possum's! Many of you have written in wonderin what Ole Bubba was up to on the fouth celebration this year! Well here's the dish! Sorry I'm runnin a little late gettin this far with the update my dear Possum's and Peep's!!! Twas a warm evenin ta say the least. The humidity was something awful! Our fouth celebration really happened on the 3rd and was totally by accident. Me and my Dad and a close friend of ours decided to head out to dinner that night.
Our dear friend Savannah Jane came along for the dinner out. We chose the Spaghetti factory in down town Nashville. Ya'll know this is where all the country music jargon takes place, The Ryman and all. Much to our surprise upon arrivin down town, was there was a big 4th celebration that night and we showed up not havin a clue as to what was goin on!
After dinner we decided to walk around the town streets. My Dad and I have a fascination for neon. It kind of reminds us of the 1950's.
Ya'll know what a camera nerd my Dad is! Oh wait! My camera crew! Yeah! That's it!
There streets were shoulder to shoulder. People out celebratin for the nights party. Check out this cowboy! Had to stop and photograph for Nashville's sake.
Neon as far as the eye couold see!!!! All up and down the street. The colors were great!
There was a free concert! Sorry Possum's....I am not familiar with the country music folks to know whom was playin that night. I was enlightened that it was some very big names in the business!
The Hard Rock cafe neon is always a pleasure.
To top off the end of the night was the fireworks. They were truely beautiful! Not to mention they were a surprise to our day! Well that's about all there was to my 4th celebration Possum's.
Have a pleasent and safe night! And so I close The Sock Drawer on another day! Bubba
